How much does suspension repair cost?

Suspension prices vary a lot by vehicle and part. I inspect first, then quote the parts that are actually worn. A CA$70 diagnostic is a good start when you are not sure where the noise comes from.

Can suspension be done on site?

Many suspension parts are replaced on site with the car on stands. Some jobs need an alignment afterwards, which I tell you before the work starts.

When a shop is the better option

An alignment is often needed after arms, tie rods or struts, and that needs an alignment rack at a shop. I tell you before the job.

FAQ

Questions about suspension repair

Do I need an alignment after suspension work?

Some parts, like control arms, tie rods and struts, can change the alignment. I tell you in advance when it’s needed.

What’s that clunk over bumps?

Common causes are sway bar links, control arm bushings and ball joints. An inspection pinpoints it.

Should shocks be replaced in pairs?

Yes, shocks and struts are normally replaced in pairs on the same axle for even handling.
