How much does it cost?

Price depends on the vehicle and how hard the part is to reach. Send your year, make and model for a quote. If you are not sure whether it’s the battery, starter or alternator, start with a CA$70 diagnostic.

Avoid the tow

A car that won’t crank usually means a tow to the shop. On many vehicles I replace the starter or alternator right where it’s parked.

When a shop is the better option

On some vehicles the starter is buried under the intake or needs a lift to reach. I tell you on the phone if yours is one of them.

FAQ

Questions about alternator & starter

How do I know if it’s the alternator or the battery?

I test both. If the battery is good but not charging while the engine runs, the alternator is the usual suspect.

Can you replace a starter in my driveway?

On many vehicles, yes. Some are harder to reach. I tell you when you call.

Do you use new parts?

I quote the part options for your vehicle and explain the difference before you choose.
